Monday meal ideas: Soups

It’s been a bloody cold weekend. The only thing for it was lots of home cooked meals and sitting by the fire, under a blanket! Looks like things are still going to stay on the cooler side of things so here are some quick soup recipe ideas for you to make for lunch or dinner this week.

  1. Love a good soup. Enjoy your week xo

  2. Thanks for the reminder about the pumpkin, ginger and garlic. I used to make it but it had slipped my mind. I now have enough for another couple of lunches and the whack of chilli I also added cleared my stuffy head.

I make pumpkin soup with lots of variations. Orange juice and zest. Curry past. Kaffir lime leaves shredded. A can of tomatoes tipped in. All good.

An update for you on Miss M, my little granddaughter with leukaemia. She is just starting what the doctors hope will be the last of the big guns of chemotherapy. Along with heavy duty steroids which make her joints ache and have also given her diabetes and pancreatitis although these have now passed.

After these few weeks, it will be 18-24 months of maintenance chemo and constant testing. She hopes to lose the central line into her chest by her birthday late September. It has been in place since January 2. Two days school so far all year but hopefully that will pick up soon.

She still talks of those boxes from Newtown, so thank you again. I think it was on your blog that I saw Daisy with a pillowcase kit? I bought Miss M one and she loved it and has done a wonderful job on hers.

    • Hi Jan,

Thanks so much for the update on Miss M – she is often in my thoughts. I hope that the last of the chemo all goes well and she can get onto the road to recovery. Hard to believe the battle she has been though (you all have). Thinking of you xxx
