A few of my favourite things

It’s a good time of year for mail at the moment. Packages of Christmas presents purchased arriving, some special Christmas messages and cards and sometimes an unexpected package of pure delight. This was one such package. One of the readers of the blog emailed me a while back asking to send something all the way from her home in Belgium.

Today it arrived.

Harper was thrilled that it was for her.

It was nothing but a brown paper package, tied up with string.

With a note.

And inside? JUST THE MOST PRECIOUS THINGS I EVER DID SEE. Harper’s drawings! Bought to life with needle, thread and fabric.

HAVE YOU EVER?!

She was delighted! I cried. How are people so kind? And thoughtful? To make something so precious that I will treasure forever. HOW?

Rhi, I don’t just like your little stitching’s I LOVE them. Truly. Thank you so much.

On this blog I share the things I do and the people that I love who are so precious and dear to me, and to have something just as special returned to me made my day. So thank you.

Rhi has a blog. And she has a business. And she has no idea that I am going to share them, nor would she expect me to, but I want to, because I can. So there.

  27. Oh wow. Just beautiful.

  28. Yesterday, during a trip to the post office to dispatch Christmas pressies, I despaired at the state of humanity. Snark, snark, snark – from the staff, from fellow customers – everyone! Then I went to the library and overheard a woman at the counter who was tearily asking to use the phone as her car had just been stolen (I have a feeling that the two shady characters who PUSHED in front of VERY pregnant me in the line at the post office may have had a hand in that, but that’s a story for another day..)

Anyway, this is a very long winded story of saying that your post is a lovely reminder that good things do happen to good people. Can’t wait to see these beauties framed. Claire
