Holiday postcard day 3

4.35am is an early start for anyone. Throw in two kids who have been looking forward to going on a plane for weeeeks and it seems even earlier. We left and then went back home (you know when you think you left the heater on then decide to go back only to see that the heater WAS on?). Yes that. Sorted it Mum!

First stop when we got here was Central Market for a wander. Man I love that place. Why doesn’t Sydney have something similar? Quality fresh produce all in the one spot? I guess Farmer’s markets do this on weekends…

We went for a wander and some yum cha (I have been really working on my asian hankerings this holiday) before we headed back to Rob’s Aunt & Uncle’s place for the afternoon. The girls? Delirious and quite revolting. Everything we suggested was a bad idea. Terrible. The worst. Disgusting. We tried to pay our parking with two kids – they wouldn’t take them!

A lazy afternoon with beautiful family, a few drinks, kids catching up with each other, sitting by the fire and a trip to the local park topped off a great but very long day.

I LOVE the Adelaide markets. They make me consider moving to SA every time I visit my inlaws-they live at Mclaren Vale, which is appealing too. The wine, not so much te inlaws.

  2. I haven’t made it to Adelaide yet. Hope to get there sooner or later! Love the photos x

  3. If you’re looking for something to do Sunday try the Adelaide showgrounds farmers market – scallops on a bbq.
Loving your Harper pics at the moment.

What’s going on, Seems everyone is going to Adelaide this weekend… We fly in tomorrow!

Beth if you have the chance, you MUST go to One Rundle Trading in Dulwich (5-10 min drive east of city)… My fave shop in all of Australia and know you’d love it. It’s very much a Beth shop!!

And of course the Haighs Factory Shop in Parkside 🙂

    Enjoy!

  5. Gorgeous pics. xo

  6. I love your parking payment idea. And that close up of Harper! Gold. Enjoy your weekend x

  7. How did I not know you were here this weekend? Darn sick & non-sleeping children making me take social media breaks!! We dropped in to the Market today too. Love that place so much. Gorgeous photos as always Beth xxx

  8. Gorgeous photos of beautiful children! Will check out the market next time we’re in town.

  9. Love the last photo of your girls with her cousin.
Harper is so cute. But i feel for you travelling and organising things with a two year old.
We are moving house, and moving overseas it is very hard with a two year old. But I find girls tend to help more than boys.
    Have a great holiday!

I know its no glamorous at all, but you should give Flemington markets in Sydney a try. They are open to public Fri 10-2 and Sat 6pm onwards. The fruit and veg are so fresh and great prices.

Almost everything I buy lasts up to 2 weeks in the fridge. I’d be happy to show you around some time as it can be a bit daunting the first time. I hope you have a lovely time in Adelaide.

  11. Gorgeous photos…as always.
And now I want some salami!

  12. Harper is such a cutie. And isn’t Daisy changing into a beautiful young lady. So tall. She seems to have really grown up this year (maybe this explains her changing attitude of late, lol).

  13. Yep, I’ve done the return to check the heater thing before too… only to find I HAD turned the heater off… so the hour and a half round return trip was a little testing to say the least.
Beautiful photos lady, looks lovely… and there is nothing worse than over-tired children who don’t want to do anything, hope they improved after a nap xo

  14. BabyMac at Adelaide Central Markets! Where was I? Hiding behind my computer, no doubt. Also too sick for the last two weeks to get ON the computer very often. Ugh.
Just catching up on all your posts now, it looks like you had a lovely time.
