Weekending: By the Beach

We always have plenty of visitors come and stay with us here at home but it’s pretty rare that we ever actually get invited anywhere ourselves. So when Mrs Woog invited us to Mackeral beach in Pittwater with them it took me approximately 3.4 seconds before saying “um, WHAT DO YOU RECKON? COURSE!”.  And so Saturday morning we rugged up and dealt with some seriously buffeting winds to trek from Palm Beach over on the ferry. My girls were beside themselves on the boat – don’t get out much on the water do we?

The house was literally a stone’s throw from the water and as the afternoon went on the wind died down and we were left with the most perfect Autumn afternoon I’d seen in a while. A change of scene is good for the soul isn’t it?

We headed down to the wharf in the late afternoon for a spot of fishing. Jack Woog being the show pony that he is caught two fish in quick succession and then went off to find something a bit more interesting to do while Harry and Daise stuck it out, desperate for a piece of the action. Alas it never came.

Plenty of wine was rolled, good food eaten and later on marshmallows and Eurovision by the fire. Did someone say PERFECTION? Oh yes, that would be me.

The next day I was up early with my friend Harper. There were ducks to feed you see. What’s it matter we did it in our jammies?

Colouring in, walks along the beach otherwise known as “Family Time” that Mrs Woog refused to partake in. She was interested in “alone time with the Sunday papers and tea in the sunshine time”. I took one for the team.

Daisy took that picture of me above and I love it. Says it all – relaxed time in the sunshine. Good times! Thanks for taking us along Woog clan x
