Love, sweet love

I don’t see my Dad as much as I would like to. Or should do. It’s one of those things with divorced parents. You always see one side more than the other. And the fact that he lives up the coast means that we just don’t get up there as much as we should. Or could. Or something.

But the other night we did catch up. Because his, my step mum’s and my birthday are all a week apart. So we thought we would catch up for dinner. And a wine. And a natter. And a laugh.
The girls adore him. What is it about little girls and older men? Maybe that’s just my girls?Harper in particular was very taken. In fact, she kept resting her head on his chest for a proper ‘cuddle’. She has never done that before. For anyone.




We better catch up again soon. To keep that fire alight so to speak…

  1. Soo sweet! My son hasn’t met my dad yet which is not good, but with them in the NT it’s a sad fact of life.
    It’s funny how kids, especially babies, attach themselves to certain people..My uncle is the most bogan-looking fella you will ever come across..yet Coop cuddles and kisses him more then ME!
    It’s hard to tell who was having more fun.. 🙂

  6. Aww, proper cuddles! Charlotte did that this week, but it was with me while Grandad looked on. She was a bit shy of the old man 😀
