Who do you feel?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Did you hear that contented Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah? Here it is: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! And yes, yes it does warrant a capital A right there it is that pronounced. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

We are home! And it is THIS good. Yep, that much. I got to put both gals to bed tonight, into their own beds, and you could almost feel them also doing their own little versions of aaah too. My heart filled to the brim with love for those ladies this afternoon when I saw them reunited. Harper’s little chubby legs just went stiff and kicked out over and over in pure delight. She clapped! She squealed! And Daisy just kept kissing her. Over and over and then over again. In between telling her sister that she missed her, and that she was very brave you “poor liddle thing”. Honestly people, the sisterly love! Sure, tomorrow it will be game on with tears and tantrums and all that, but the last few hours have made me one happy Mumma.
I am showered. In my jammies, and about to head to bed. I don’t care how many times I have to wake up in the night it be fine. A million times better than the past few nights. Poor Rob though is as sick as he has ever been in the time we have been together. Completely bed ridden with a terrible case of tonsillitis. So while the band is back together, we are not all in form, as yet.
Daisy spent the day with her Grandma today and picked up the most hilarious doctors dress up outfit I have EVER seen. The real deal – looks JUST like scrubs with all the bits and pieces. She played with me all afternoon (just as well I was in good form playing a patient, albeit a slightly agitated one) using THE best line I have heard in some time “who do you feel?”

And she must have REALLY missed me because she let me brush her hair and everything!

Thanks for all your kind words of support and just for listening to me (via the cyber world) bitch and moan and complain and despair. It made it all a little less lonely and I can tell you it was LONELY in there. Even with the no meals for parents, bringing your own formula and nappies and everything for your kid, the public health system amazed me with great doctors and especially nursed who most importantly turned our little lady completely around from a listless, sick girl to a happy, contented 6 month old again. Thank goodness. And thanks again.
Give your little ones or big ones an extra kiss tonight. Snuggle into your doona a little deeper. Drink a little more wine, and turn up that heater a little higher because there is NO place like home. I know that much is true.
