On Monday (otherwise known as the day with no TV whatsoever that almost killed me) I was looking for some distraction. Something to fill up the time until bedtime. So we did what I always do when I have time like that up my sleeve, I took the kids round to my Mum’s place so SHE could play with them and I could be distracted with coffee, and leftovers and magazines and the like.
She had spent the day before cleaning out the garage and had stumbled across a box of all my most treasured treasures that she decided I could have now. Something to do with it taking up space? Anyway, I sat down and had a look through the box and boy did I find some gold. GOLD. All of my old love letters from boys, school reports and stories, photos, cards and other bits and pieces which I held onto for some reason.
And as it is hard to read I have transcribed for your reading pleasure (spelling mistakes and all).
Oh that is pure GOLD!!! I love that he melted away on the shelf in Franklins. How on earth did you come up with that…?
Wow! It’s soooo postmodern…. An allegory of inter-racial romance… I’m being sarcastic, by the way. Hilarious! I love finding little tidbits like that that make you remember what you were like as a child.
Brilliant, utterly brilliant. I managed to burst out in some kind of weird, wheezy laugh at the end. Melted! That’s made my day!!
How fantastic that your mum kept it! Love it.
I love it!
Also, your Mum isn’t the only one that does that. Mine is forever trying to give me boxes of things. Am fairly sure the mother is meant to keep the school reports from Kindergarten!
Fantastic! Love it! As Happyjacki said, very post modern. I could also see it as a photo love story in a teen mag.
My mum’s kept everything as well. It is comedy gold. I have blogged some of it.
I really like your header and blog design too. Your creativity started at a young age!
Gold! My Dad’s shed keeps throwing up general fabulousness like this too. What would we do without them?
Thanks for Rewinding at the Fibro! 🙂
That is hilarious. Love, love, love the fact that you didn’t go down the happily ever after route…
Hilarious. Love it.
