10 fingers

Did you hear that? It was the BIGGEST sigh of relief from over here from me! I am pleased to say that all went well with the scan yesterday.

One Baby.
10 fingers.
2 arms.
2 legs. (kicking up a storm)
2 halves of a brain.
And one tiny heart that was pumping away.

To say I am relieved is an understatement. Honestly, I was so worked up before the scan yesterday I was like a crazy woman, on crazy woman drugs, doing crazy woman things. Snapped? Me?! Maybe 74 times or something. But then, well they put on the scanner onto my stomach and low and behold there was our little baby! I know I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was. And happy. The migraine headache I had since Monday just disappeared. All looked good, all the bits were there, the risk for down syndrome was very low and they were happy with how it all looked. I have a little snap that I will have to post (I am proud already!) which I keep sneaking a look at throughout the day. We showed it to Daisy who kept holding it and pointing to the head saying “baby tummy” and then to the tummy and saying “baby head”, but she could have been looking at the floor for all she knew!

So there is a relieved Mumma here. A very busy Dad who is working more than he ever has before (I think we have seen each other for a total of 15 mins this week which may just be the total for the week as he is working ALL weekend too), a happy Daisy (as per usual) and a little growing babe inside of me.

All is good.
